Planning a Wedding at Trinity

Getting Married at Trinity
Marriage is a gift of God. In marriage we celebrate the promise of a couple to live together as husband and wife, and, we celebrate God’s promise to bless them and sustain them in their love for each other. Weddings at Trinity reflect our Christian faith and are to be considered an act of worship and prayer.

Setting a Date and Time
A wedding date should be set at least three months in advance. Because of other parish activities and the pastor’s schedule, the earlier you can set the date the better. Weddings will not be scheduled during Holy Week or Easter Weekend. If you wedding is on a Saturday and a reception follows at the church the wedding shall be no later than 1:00 p.m. If there is no reception at the church, the wedding shall be no later than 3:30 p.m. It is best for evening weddings to be scheduled on Friday.

Pre-marriage Sessions
Couples meet with the pastor three times in preparation for the wedding. The purpose of these sessions is to not only plan the wedding but to focus on the marriage relationship and a Christian understanding of marriage.

Who Can Get Married
Church weddings are for members and family of members.

Other information about weddings at Trinity can be found in a brochure entitled, “I Promise You.” Copies are available from the parish office. God bless you as you make your wedding plans.
